AntiFrantik is a Toronto hiphop triple-threat; this multi-arts powerhouse produces, writes, and films. On top of all that, he is now co-CEO of Anamoly, a Toronto-based recording company committed to creating space for the silenced and marginalized to share their own sonic memoirs.
We had the privilege of collaborating with AntiFrantik for our SS14 show soundtrack, presented at Fashion Arts Toronto Week in April of 2014. What resulted was "1968", a soundscape composed of a series of dialogues that explored different facets of the black female/femme experience from the 1960s to present day. It is a powerful, audacious, and timelessly relevant piece, especially in light of what BLMTO's political sit-in during PrideTO's 2016 Pride Parade revealed about intersectionality, resistance and compromise.
